GUIDELINES FOR SENDING YOUR DIGITAL FILES
FILE FORMATS
Favourites include JPEG, AI, EPS, PDF, TIF and BMP formats but remember the resolution has to be sufficiently good for large format work.
SOFTWARE COMPATIBILITY
Preferably the following applications: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, QuarkXpress, Freehand.
If you use software other than these please export your files in a format that can be opened by the above applications OR
b) in an EPS format OR
c) if using CorelDraw export as Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
PC files should have all text converted to curves, paths or outlines and contain a Mac preview if possible.
TEXT
Where possible ALL text should be converted to outlines/paths/curves in your design software thus preventing your font inadvertently being replaced with a similar one.
FONTS
Attach all relevant fonts including those used in supporting imported or placed files. Please note that Mac fonts usually comprise a printer font AND a screen font - we require both of these. |
BLEED
Remember to include sufficient image area on all edges where images bleed (print over the edge)
SCALE
Please supply at 300dpi no smaller than 12.5% (1/8th) of final printed size
SPECIAL COLOURS
These need to be clearly indicated with Pantone Ref numbers - we will try to match as closely as possible but be aware that some Pantone colours are not exactly achievable by the CMYK process
FILE TRANSFER
Digital files can be sent by email up to a file size of 20Mb. Files up to 60Mb can be sent by ISDN, please contact us first for details. Otherwise we require files to be physically sent on CD or DVD RAM/ROM format.
